Hoy os traigo un resumen del Baloncesto en Inglés:
Introduction
Basketball is an extremely popular sport. It is played in streets, high schools and colleagues.
Basketball's popularity is not confined to the USA. Basketball is included among the Olympic sports.
History of the sport
In 1891, a P.E. instructor at a YMCA Training School in Massachusetts invented Basketball as an indoor activity for boys.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the largest professional sport league. It was created in 1949.
How the game is played
Players try to prevent their opponents from scoring, while each tries to get the ball through the basket that the other team is defending. A Basketball team consist of a centre, two forwards and two guards. 5 people play it.
Playing techniques
Types of shots
One-Hand Shot, Hook Shot, Two-Handed Shot, Jump Shot, Lay-Up, Tip-In and Free Throw.
Equipment and clothing
Baskets are made of a metal ring with an inside diameter of 18 inches (ca. 46 cm). Baskets hang 10 feet (ca. 3 m) above the floor. The standard Basketball court measures about 50 feet (ca. 15 m) by 94 feet (ca. 29 m).
They wear loose-fitting clothes designed for freedom of movement. They wear long shorts and specially shoes.
